One of the way to make money is through blogging. If you do not have a blog, you could do so at WordPress (my preferred) or BlogSpot. If you have the capability, I would recommend you to buy a domain and host it. Some of the better known web hosting site are goDaddy, Host Gator.

The best thing is that you could blog at your own free time and make money along the way. This is why more and more people are blogging, as this is a feasible way to earn that few extra dollars a week. I have friends who earn a substantial amount to consider making a full time living from their blogging. This is definitely possible if you have learnt the tricks of it.

Here I want to share some tips that I have gathered from my friends and online on how to make money through blogging.

First, you need to decide what you want to blog about. Generally, people will choose topics that they are interested in and of course people from the rest of the world might be interested in.

Take PET for example. Maybe you enjoy keeping dogs. So you might consider blogging about your experience with keeping dogs – What to feed them. What to do if they are sick. The topics can vary depending on what you know the others to know. After that, you might want to let other dog lovers to know of your website. You could post the link on Forums, Web directory, etc to increase the traffic to your website. Then you can start selling pet related products. Some suggestions I could think of now are Amazon books or Google Adsense.

There is no end to what you can blog about.

Have you heard of Clickbank, Commission Junction, Google Adsense and other form of affiliate marketing vehicles? They are usually free to sign up as an affiliate. Sign up now and start making money by marketing  products that they offer in their programs.

It is advisable to go for something that you are familiar with, something that you are interested. I’m sure that they carry a product or service to your niche or liking. Sound easy! Yeah, that’s all you need to do to kick start.

After you have signed up as an affiliate and have found the product that you want to market. I repeat again – the product you want to market! It helps to start off right. Because if you are able to market the product successfully, the money will come in naturally.  What you need to do at the same time is  to generate an affiliate link by adding the username you registered earlier. Once you have done that, add the affiliate links to the website that you have created to market the product and start making commissions from.

As an affiliate, two most important thing you need are traffic and an attractive landing page. No traffic means no marketing. No marketing means no customer. No customer means no sales. No sales means no commission. Having an attractive landing page will firstly cause the visitor to want to find out more about the products and secondly encourage revisiting.

In short, you will not make any money without traffic.
